Registration Criteria

Before a Registrar will certify a company under ISO standards, certain requirements must be fulfilled. The Registrar may only grant registration when the customer meets the following general criteria:

The customer must submit a Registration Application and Agreement that is acceptable to the Registrar.

The customer must have a documented Quality System that is applicable to its scope of registration, and the Registrar must confirm that the documents conform to the requirements of the applicable Quality System Standards (e.g. ISO 9000, AS 9100, etc.) as supplemented, when necessary, by any other relevant requirements.

The customer's Quality System must be fully and effectively implemented and all activities must meet the relevant requirements for the Quality System. The documents and forms described in the Quality System Manuals must be the ones in actual use.

The customer must have completed at least one full Internal Audit cycle of all applicable processes, systems and subsystems within the Quality Management System.

The customer must have performed a compliant Management Review of the completed audit cycle.

The customer must be able to demonstrate that it is keeping records of all complaints and remedial actions relative to the Quality System.

The certification audit must reveal no, or only minor, nonconformities that will not cause a breakdown of the Quality System. Where nonconformities exist, a corrective action plan must have been submitted and accepted.

The audit(s), and any follow-up or surveillance audits, as applicable, must be satisfactory and without critical nonconformities.

Where critical nonconformities exist, the customer must be able to demonstrate that corrective action has been taken to meet all relevant requirements within the specified time limit, and the Registrar must be able to confirm that corrective action is satisfactory.

The customer must meet its financial obligations to the Registrar.
